Lebanese Vegans x Million Dollar Vegan x Seb Alex
Plant based food boxes and ready meals distributed to more than 2200 families since the Beirut explosion in August 2020.
Why
In August 2020, Lebanese Vegans launched a campaign in collaboration with Seb Alex, to distribute plant-based food boxes and ready meals to families and individuals who were affected by the Beirut port explosion.
With the help of a public fundraiser and support from Million Dollar Vegan, bulk food was bought from local shops and packed into medium boxes for families of 4-5 or smaller boxes for individuals. Vegan restaurants that were destroyed from the blast joined the initiative and prepared ready meals with their chefs and a team of volunteers.
Our mission
Our mission is to help both humans and other animals, by distributing strictly plant-based foods.
Each box also contains a full description of what plant-based diets are, resources of low cost recipes and a 21 day free support link to switch to a plant based diet.
Solidarity with migrant workers
As a lot of organizations were distributing food to Lebanese families and individuals only and as we are strictly against all forms of discrimination and oppression, we decided to also support and help out migrant workers from Kenya, Ethiopia and Eritrea (some of whom have been sleeping outside their consulates).
Today, our free food distribution program continues through our plant based cafe, The Collective, located in the Lebanese Vegans Social Hub.
