The webinar focuses on three questions:
1. What impact does our food have on our health and planet?
2. Why do we need to change our attitude towards animals?
3. What can citizens do to make positive change happen?
The world’s meat and dairy industries are a hotbed for new infectious diseases like COVID-19 and key contributors to pollution.
They also are a main cause of the climate crisis, which threatens our communities with draught and famine. Meanwhile, animals are being exploited and killed on an unprecedented scale.
At the same time, more and more people are suffering from chronic diseases like heart disease.
It’s clear that things need to change.
Two professionals (from sustainability, health and business practice), Georges Hayek and Seb Alex, will share their inspiring ideas and experiences with the public. They will also talk about the strong link between climate change, the ecological crisis, our health, the way we treat animals and our food system.
They will show how everyone can help to create positive change: on the streets, in the community and in politics.

• Georges Hayek (Lebanon), founder of “Lebanese Vegans” and owner of Hayek Hospital.
• Seb Alex (Lebanon), former sustainable architect and now an influential animal protection advocate. He regularly speaks at educational events about health, sustainability and the link with animal rights. Seb tries to inspire the public to question their daily habits. He also works on distributing free vegan food and helping injured animals from the Beirut blast in August 2020.
